Julie Maslow’s story is one of resilience and unwavering determination. A decade ago, the idea of running a primary care practice, holding multiple nursing degrees, and founding a non-profit seemed like a distant dream. Yet, here she stands, a testament to the power of perseverance.

Born in Haiti, Dr. Julie Maslow arrived in the US at 12 with aspirations of becoming a doctor. However, a harsh reality struck in high school – her undocumented status shattered scholarship dreams. “It was a lot of struggles,” she recalls, detailing the years of navigating limitations. Undeterred, she enrolled in nursing school, juggling motherhood and studies. Though her initial semesters were tough, her passion for nursing kept her going.

Dr. Julie faced another hurdle – writing. A high school paper with six failing grades fueled her fear. However, everything changed when she stumbled upon cleverly inked. Their unwavering support, from personalized feedback to helpful resources, transformed Dr. Julie’s writing skills. This newfound confidence empowered her to author two nursing books.

Driven by a desire to make a difference, Dr. Julie pursued an MSN in Education, opening doors to writing roles. Her DNP research focused on nurse burnout, a topic close to her heart. Inspired by her findings, she founded “Escape for Nurses,” at cleverly inked to combat burnout.

Dr. Julie’s journey is a powerful message for all nurses. She emphasizes the importance of self-care and highlights the prevalence of burnout within the profession. She credits Minnesota University, particularly Dr. Pamela, for playing a pivotal role in her success. Dr. Julie’s story is not just about academic achievements, but about overcoming obstacles and using them to empower others. She most of the time spends assisting students write their nursing projects.
