My Review

I went back and reread Fallen I had to refresh my memory. I'm not sure why I couldn't recall the book. Anyhoo... Torment picked up were Fallen ended. It swung right back into all the exciting drama.  Luce got thrown into another school but this time it was with Nephilim.  There is so much to the plot I didn't feel like I got a chance to really get to know the new characters and there are quite a bit.  I still don't know if I understand Luce. She doesn't know herself enough for me to know her. (if that makes sense)  I couldn't help but feeling Miles was up to something. Even though Luce kept repeating that Miles was nice etc. His character just never took. I think Miles needed a bigger part for me to feel attached. Even though he played a bit of a hero.

After reading Fallen you almost feel you have a grasp on the story. Though a lot had happened in Fallen you had a sense of direction or so you thought.  After diving into Torment I was back at square one. There were new issues and new backgrounds that gave for a great plot. If you have read Fallen then you'd know Lauren Kate has a way with suspense. In fact the entire Torment book to me was nothing but suspense. I was waiting for the punch line that never came. I'm hoping more answers are revealed in Passion (3rd book in the Fallen series) and some of the suspense lightens. I don't know if I can continue reading a book with more confusion than answers.  Fallen series has great potential, so I am going to dive into book 3 and report my review and my up to date opinion about the Fallen series.

Yeah, I know what you mean. We really didn't have much time to really get to know the new characters. I really want to read Passion though, see if we finally find something out.

I'm reading Passion right now and loving it! I'm hoping to finally get some answers!

Thanks for the no answers warning.

It's hard when a book has a lot of characters and doesn't ever seem to answer pertinent questions that are left over from the first book. I think my daughter has read Fallen, so I am sure she would be interested in this one as well, but I will have to warn her that it meanders a little. Thanks for the honesty, Liz. I would have hated to have bought this book and not known about the things you disclosed.

I still have not started this series. I know I will eventually since I have a copy of Fallen in my bookshelves.

Hmmm...maybe I'll wait for your review of book 3 before I read book 2.

I liked reading the review since I wont read the book. Fallen was just so boring since nothing happened

lol. I was so frustrated with book one that hearing Torment is the same I think I'll pass. I do agree with you that the series has potential too, I just wish we could get more answers.

Hm... maybe I'll wait until all 3 are out before I dive into this series. Even if I go back to square one after this book. I still may go to the library for this series tho. Thanks!
