Gwendolyn Heasley

Gwendolyn Heasley is a graduate of Davidson College and the University of Missouri-Columbia where she earned her master’s degree in journalism. When she was a little girl, she desperately wanted to be the next Ann M. Martin- the author of the belovedThe Baby-Sitter’s Club series. She’s incredibly grateful that the recession rendered her unemployed and made her chase her nearly forgotten dream. She lives in New York City, teaches college and eats entirely too much mac and cheese for an adult. She’s also currently at work on a second novel for Harper Collins.

Beth Revis

Beth Revis‘s debut novel, Across the Universe, is coming fromRazorbill/Penguin in Spring 2011. A former high-school English teacher, Beth can’t help but blog about writing, grammar, and publishing at Writing it Out. She is the founder of the new popular dystopian blog, the League of Extraordinary Writers and blows off steam by trying to come up with something witty in 140 characters or less, lusting after books on GoodReads, or wasting time on Facebook. Beth is represented by Merrilee Heifetz at Writers House.

Holly Schindler

I can’t remember the last time I left the house without a spiral notebook or some pages folded up in a back pocket. And I don’t think I've ever returned without fresh ideas, titles, or poetry fragments climbing every one of those pages, racing up the margins, crisscrossing in as many different directions as the highways and interstates on a road map of Missouri (my home state).

I’ve spent my life making these notes in the margins—even as a little girl, my favorite summer activity was to write books bound by strips of red ribbon…and to scrawl comments next to my paragraphs like the most critical of editors. (Lessons learned from this childhood pastime served me well, even in graduate school, as I attempted my first novel.).....

Gwendolyn - her website is SO cute! I think her story just goes to show that maybe some things are meant to be; her job was cut and so she was able to pursue writing.

Beth - her website was very cute as well. I enjoyed reading her FAQ page, about how she came up with the idea for Across the Universe.

Holly - I enjoyed looking through her site and checking out her blog. I absolutely love the covers of her books, they're so pretty!!

Gwendolyn Heasley: Oh my, her website is lovely! I love the book cover of the couple sitting intimately together, and the colors are perfect! It's a resourceful site, and I like the design! The most beautiful site I've seen. (:

Beth Revis: I am liking that Stephen King quote. (:
The colors are lovely, pruple and black, a good mix. The design is good, along with the images. A great site to browse around! The book cover looks nice too...goodness, book covers today are on a roll.

Holly Schindler: Wow, her site is very modern-like. I like the image of the books and the coffee cup, the perfect look for a book reader and lover. I like how she advertises her books as a banner, and how she has the breaking news first instead of a biography. A really good website to look around! :D

Too much coolness today, Liz!!

Gwendolyn: Very professional, and I LOVE that pink! I love the way the boxes and text move. And I especially love that photo on her bio page - too cute!! :-)

Beth: I've always loved her new site. The purple and the space symbols just fit her and her book perfectly. I also loved how she used the telescope to reveal her hidden page before ATU was released.

Holly: You know I love the coffee cup on the stacked books in her header! I love the cursive font and the incorporation of YouTube videos.

Gwendolyn's site - Loved her site! It's "Pretty in Pink"! Loved the homepage! Loved the photos in her blog page.

Beth's site - Cool Layout! It matches Across The Universe! Loved her Bio. LOL at her and her mother's "race to visit the most ______ (fill in the blank lol)". She and her mother sure love to travel. One of my dreams is to travel around the world.

Holly's site - Loved the blending of colors. Loved that she always have a notebook with her. I do the same. I always bring a small notebook with me wherever i go. The only difference is that i don't write on it, but more like doodling on it. LOL

All three authors have great sites and all so different!

+ Gwendolyn - I loved the bright colors and moving parts. The shadowy background image from the book cover is also a great addition!

+ Beth - The dark, starry background is so beautiful! And the author quotes are great choices, especially Stephen King's.

+ Holly - Her simple, bright and colorful site is so striking. And I can't wait to read her work in progress, Fifth Avenue Fido. It sounds like a riot!
