Weekend Question?

Weekend Question is a fun way to get to know my followers. I enjoy knowing little tidbits of your lives.

Weekend Question?

Are you a Audio book listener?

I listen to Classics, It seems to make it easier for me to follow along. Having ADD makes it extremely hard to pay attention no matter what book I read. So when reading classics I tend to get lost. Not because they are bad books but I tend to zone because the language they use. LOL Strange I know. I am just lucky I can pay attention to read at all. There are plenty with ADD who can't.

So what about you?

I love audiobooks. I listen to them in the car because I drive so much. I love the Eve Dallas series by J.D Robb.

You know, I've never listened to an audio book. Though, I like your idea of listening to the classics. I think I'd like that too.

I'm with you Liz. When I listen to audiobooks, it is pretty much exclusively classics. I download them onto my ipod from the library and have for the most part enjoyed every one.
The one thing though, is that the narrator has to be good; if I don't like the narration, I won't listen, no matter how much I might like the book otherwise.

I try to listen to audiobooks, but never seem to have the time. I do listen at night with my husband, because it's a great way to share books with him, but there are many nights when we just skip it. I am actually in the middle of three audiobooks right now!

I've only listened to two. The first one I loved because it was George Carlin's autobiography narrated by his brother who sounds almost exactly like him. The second one I completely hated and didn't finish because I disliked the narrator. I can't remember the name of the book now but, apparently audio books are hit or miss with me.

I never have listened to an audio book, but I keep hearing such great stuff about them.

I actually zone out worse when I listen to things (I'm a visual learner), so I've never tried audiobooks.

Nope, narrators just annoy me so much and they take so long to listen too. I read faster

No, I tried before but I found that I really had to concentrate or pay attention or I would forget everything I heard. And when listening to audiobooks I always want to walk around and do other things around the house and I found that I couldn`t do both things at once.

I want to be, but I have the worst time with the voices on audio books.

I love audio books - that's pretty much what gets me through those annoying household tasks like folding laundry. I agree with Juju that the voices have to be good. A lousy narrator can completely ruin a good book. My faves - The Help (best audio book I've ever listened to) and Jackdaws (thriller about a group of female WWII spies).

I have only listened to one audio book so far, do not have the patience to have someone read to me... Liz the main problem I have is until you get the book you do not know how the narrator(s) will sound and I am sorry but most of them suck... Plus rather than "multi-tasking" when I read that is all I want to focus on, the book or E-reader in my hand and everything else can just wait!
