Exonerated by the Vampyre High Council and returned to her position of High Priestess at Tulsa’s House of Night, Neferet has sworn vengeance on Zoey. Dominion over her immortal consort Kalona is only one of the weapons she plans to use against Z. But Zoey has found sanctuary on the Isle of Skye and is being groomed by Queen Sgiach to take over for her there. Being Queen would be cool, wouldn’t it? Why should she return to Tulsa? After losing her human consort, Heath, she will never be the same – and her relationship with her super-hot-warrior, Stark, may never be the same either…
And what about Stevie Rae and Rephaim? The Raven Mocker refuses to be used against Stevie Rae, but what choice does he have when no one in the entire world, including Zoey, would be okay with their relationship? Does he betray his father or his heart?
In the pulse-pounding 8th book in the bestselling House of Night series, how far will the bonds of friendship stretch and how strong are the ties that bind one girl’s heart?
After the last two disappointments with the House of Night Series. I really wanted to stick with the series. I felt I had a lot invested in it. I swore that if Awakened wasn't setting a new standard I would have to move on. You become so attached to characters that it's hard to let go. I honestly tried to hang on and I know the House of Night series has been a huge hit. So let's begin....
Awakened was better then the last but I am sick of the guy drama and Zoey's guy drama. I still don't understand how one can be in love with so many at one time. Sex was mention far to often for my taste and I don't think it was done in good taste. After all Zoey had a sexual encounter with Stark shortly after coming back from her own "Death" or whatever lurking between two worlds. I am sad that this series has slipped from my grip but I just feel I could no longer in the future give this series a fair chance. I can feel Zoey's grandmother tsking with her disappointment in Zoey. I wish it wasn't so for me as I said earlier after reading so many in the series it's hard to let go. I was really hoping things would have turned around.
For those of you who have read this series and thoroughly enjoyed this series...You won't be let down. It continues as if did in the past. The characters are strongly written and you have a great sense of who they are. You also have the guy drama and the funny slang that Zoey has used through out the series. It's written the same as the rest. I just can't say it was good enough for me, I was hoping for more or less of certain things.
