What got you started blogging? : Weekend Question (1)

I have been racking my brain to come up with a new meme.  I personally love when I go to blog pages and the blogger is asking me/us a question. I feel like I am a part of their blog. Plus I enjoy what everyone has to say. So many walks of life and different ideas.

I started blogging because a mommy group I was part of was closing. So I needed some other type of outlet. Now here I am, blogging a way and having a blast!

Weekend Question:

What got you into blogging?

I wanted a place to put all of my Goodreads reviews. And it stuck! :-)

Cool question :) I agree!

I had been wanting a blog for ages but didn't know what about. Then my husband finally said, "Blog about what you love - books." Soon after I discovered Today's Adventure through Shelfari and decided to try my hand at it :)

I've been blogging since 2000, and have had four blogs total before my current one. I decided to start this blog as a place to document everything I've read and my trials and accomplishments as I try to become a published author.

For me it came one day, I had this course where I learnt nothing so I mostly spent 6 hours on the internet and came across bookblogs, and thought why not! It was a slow start but hen it exploded, I love reading, I love writing, and I met so many new people

I got really into Goodreads and their groups and noticed a lot of people talking about their book blogs, so I figured.. it's the first summer I had off and might as well do something fun and bookish. So off I went and now I just can't stop! :-D

I stumbled across Reading With Tequila by Jennifer and was instantly hooked. After spending a weekend reviewing tons of book blogs, I thought, "I could do this!", and the rest is history....

Love the Meme! Hmmm mine is slightly boring, well a mate of mine wasn't as available anymore, so i asked what had she been up to, and she couldn't stop gushing about a blog, lol i had no idea what one was, i knew no one within the community, started from scratch, but i got there, one of the best things i have ever done, we don't talk anymore but i'm thankful she told me that day :)

What a great idea for a meme!

I sort of got into blogging backwards. Started on Twitter and was told that I really needed a blog in order to be taken seriously. I looked around, set up a blog on blogger, made it a book blog and then sort of fell into the book blogosphere. Best fall ever! :)

I already had a personal blog, and wanted a separate book blog where I could keep track the books I read and talk about them with like-minded book fiends. :)

Love the new meme! :)

Great question...and yet so many different answers you could get!

Honestly? A combination of my love of books/reading and my friend/former coworker Bri! Didn't have a clue about book blogging til about a year and a half ago (wow, it's been that long?)....started off slow and just kept building from there.

I love mommy groups. I;ve got a few I am apart of. In fact, for a couple of years i helped to manage a very popular mommy website in Hawaii (With a newspaper).... until the only two newspapers merged things change. I am no longer there but my boss and co-workers are in the process of making a new site.

Anyhow, I had a personal blog for since 2007 and was blogging before that but through different means. Back in 2008 I rediscovered my love of reading after years of forgetting I love it so much. Busy high school life trying to get into college and then college itself was BUSY so I worked and studied.
Long story short- I picked up reading again and stumbled into the blog world. I realized I was writing mini reviews in comments around the blogosphere so i decided to blog it instead. I transformed my personal blog into a book blog. I used to incorporate my personal life like my daughters hula performances and hikes I do- trying to mix the two but I decided to just make it all book all the time. :D

I've come to find blogging to be a home. I've made a few wonderful friends online who share the same interests. Oh, and that's another reason I started blogging- there were not many other readers in my real life. And if they were readers they didnt read some of the books I was longing to discuss. So that's when I entered the blog world.
Everyday I find the blog world full if creativity and initiative. I love the bubbling ideas and reviews.

=) Goodness, I think I just left a portion of a novel. lol! I love blogging and love my neighbors.

=) btw, I love meeting other moms with the same reading interests around the blogs.

Have a great week!
