Today we WELCOME Cyn Balog, the author of Sleepless.
What made you pick that specific year Eron was born?
He was born in 1893. I picked 1910 as the year he died because it was a good round number-- a hundred years of servitude as a Sandman. Plus my grandfather was born in 1911 and I based a lot of the Eron's history on him. But really, I just love everything about that era; it is so starkly different from ours that I thought it would be fun to juxtapose the two.
Please tell me there will be a sequel? I'd love to know more about the Sandman world.
Okay, um, there will be one! I will write a sequel just for you. Honestly, there are no plans for one now but I never say never.
Is it tough to let go of characters when you finish writing the book?
It never has been for me! Maybe because I don't write really long books. I write my books fairly quickly and don't have a chance to get attached. But really, I am not very sentimental about a lot of things. I have no qualms about throwing things away if I'm not using them.
Who or what is your writing muse?
My desire to have a roof over my head and clothes on my back :) Really, if I waited until I was inspired to write, I would never write. I hate to say I write for the money, but it's a prime motivator for me now.
Now for my random question, What are you afraid of? Lion, Tigers and bears ECT?
Zombies. I have a lot of zombie nightmares. But I also love zombie movies and books. I have a love/hate relationship with zombies. They scare the crap out of me, but I find them strangely irresistable.
A huge Thank You to Cyn for taking the time to do this interview!

Love the October feel to your blog.
I was reminded of something when I read "it was a good round number" It reminded me of "A knights tale" the movie with heath ledger.
Great post.
Nice interview! I'm really looking forward to reading this one. I always like knowing they'll be more books coming so I'm crossing my fingers she'll decide to do a sequel!
That was a fun interview. I love the cover! :-)
Cool interview. I liked Cyn's honesty (about everything from $$ to zombies).
