Charlaine Harris; Dead in the Family
synopsis
After enduring torture and the loss of loved ones during the brief but deadly Faery War, Sookie Stackhouse is hurt and she’s angry. Just about the only bright spot in her life is the love she thinks she feels for vampire Eric Northman. But he’s under scrutiny by Eric's boss because of their relationship. And as the political implications of the Shifters coming out are beginning to be felt, Sookie’s connection to the Shreveport pack draws her into the debate. Worst of all, though the door to Faery has been closed, there are still some Fae on the human side-and one of them is angry at Sookie. Very, very angry…
My Review
Sookie is my one of my favorite characters of all time. I love the battle of thoughts she has through the entire series. It didn't subside in Dead in the Family. I was so excited for this one, I have been waiting too long. I enjoyed that all the more "major" characters played a role. I was a little disappointed in how Bill didn't play a bigger role. You did get to see Eric in a different light. It was definitely something that I would have Never thought about when it came to the '"typical" Eric.
I usually always try my best to never give spoilers away. What I can say is that there are shocking appearances that I am still reeling over. Claude has also grown into less of a egotistical character. Sookie also decided to stick to Eric instead of floating about between the fellas. As always Charlaine Harris didn't disappoint.
Yes you should buy this. If you haven't started the series, YOU are missing out.

Ohhhh!!!! Another Sookie Stackhouse fan! I love these books and just finished this one as well. I have to write up my thoughts, but I definitely enjoyed it. :)
I <3 Sookie Stackhouse. Didn't it disappoint you how her little cousin didn't play a bigger role?
I read the first book (before the HBO series) and then went on vacation and didn't read anymore until the series started and I read the latest two books - I need to get busy and read the middle.
Also season 3 of True Blood starts Sunday. Yeah!
I missed Bill in this one too. It wasn't my favorite in the series but I still love it.
I haven't read any of the books, but I love True Blood and it starts again Sunday. YAY!! :)
You have lured me to meet Snookie.
Your review reminds me I really need to try and get into this series... though I've skipped around A LOT! lol. :D
