Adele Griffin, Beth Fantaskey & Janette Rallison Shout Out (EED)

Today is Shout-Out Day. This means I will be giving a shout out to the Authors who have participated in the Birthday Phenomenon. They have all gone above and beyond to make this event happen. So what better way to thank them, then stopping by their sites!

My favorite stories to read are also my favorites to write. I love ghost stories, mysteries, paranormals, historical thrillers, gothic Victorians, and anything that might start with a dark and stormy night. When I'm not writing, I am probably chasing down my two-year-old daughter through Brooklyn.

10 Random things about Beth Fantaskey

  • My favorite hobby is traveling the world - but my biggest fear is flying.

    Beth Fantaskey

  • My second-biggest fear is public speaking… but I’m a college professor (who sometimes teaches public speaking!)

  • I have two 5-year-old kids - who AREN’T twins.

  • My weirdest work experience was helping to “tan” deer hides using cow brains. (I was actually writing a magazine story about it.)

  • I’ve only been fired once, from a job as a bookstore clerk.

  • My best educational experience was doing research in India on the Dalit (“untouchable”) struggle for human rights. (Seemaarpu.org)

  • My worst experience, ever, was getting food poisoning while riding my bike from the Missouri River to the Mississippi. (My friend told me the chicken tasted strange…)

  • Whenever I visit a new country, I try as many ketchups as I can. (Best: Poland, Worst: China)

  • I am an uncommonly bad volleyball player… ask the team that ALMOST won a championship.

  • I also suffer from mild “ichthyphobia,” or “fear or fish.” I don’t bother trying to overcome that one!

  • Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side

Janette lives in Chandler, Arizona with her husband, five children and enough cats to classify her as "an eccentric cat lady." She did not do this on purpose. (The cats, that is; she had the children on purpose.) Every single one of the felines showed up on its own and refuses to leave. Not even the family's fearless little Westie dog can drive them off.
Since Janette has five children and deadlines to write books, she doesn't have much time left over for hobbies. But since this is the internet and you can’t actually check up to see if anything on this site is true, let's just say she enjoys dancing, scuba diving, horse back riding and long talks with Orlando Bloom. (Well, I never said he answers back.)

i love janette's navigation bar. it's so organized, and it's great that she has a section dedicated to book trailers. it was also interesting reading the book questions.

adele really showcased all her book covers, and since covers play a huge part when i buy books, i really appreciated that. i also loved reading the "your book report" section.

beth's header was beautiful, and i haven't read either of her books, so reading through the excerpts was a lot of fun

In the Janette Rallison one I really like the book tailers, specially the 'Just one wish' one.
The Beth's site is also great, and the wedding story of Jess ans Lucius is fantastic!
And in the Adeke Griffin website I live the Early Work section. The works from ages 8-12 are supercute :) When I was younger I used to write and draw a lot, I really liked it!

Janette's website is cool because it has a Book Trailers section. I love watching trailers for books, so this is great!

I love Beth's layout. It is great! I like how part of the cover for her newest book is used as the header. Very clever :)

I also like Adele's header a lot. The About the Books section is also cool because it is easy to read what each book is about, so I like that.

Janette Rallison - I liked the section for teachers and the discussion questions and book activities.

Adele Griffin - I enjoyed the "Early Work" page. What fun!

Beth Fantaskey - I loved the entries for the "Jekel Loves Hyde" book trailers (especially my 'wut?!' reaction to best vid at 0:56; classic spit-take until I realized I wasn't seeing what I thought I saw.) I'm still LMAO!
Seriously, I really like her book covers and the color scheme matching the storyline. The green oozing out of the glass beaker for "Jekel Loves Hyde", and the red droplets for "Jessica's Guide to Dating".

I am extremely jealous that Beth has traveled all over the world! I like how her header changed when you went to the Jekel Loves Hyde tab. Also I thought it was great that she did a contest for her book trailers.

I love that Adele posted some pictures of her 'early work'. So cute!

my favorite part of Adele griffin is that she shows what book she has written on the front page so you can see what you are looking for.

Here's what I liked about the websites of these authors:

    1. Janette Rallison's format was clean, something that is great to see. When I see formats that are messy and look unprofessional, I cringe, but hers was nice.

    2. Beth Fantaskey's website had a mysterious, almost ominous flair to it, which I thought, from what I've heard about her books, fits perfectly.

    3. Adele Griffin's' website-the first thing that you notice are all of the book covers! They captured my attention at once. I also loved the creative pic of the author peeking through the window!

Please add three more entries for me! Thank you so much!
