New Cover to Magic Under Glass-Book Signing

Wonderful Time I had listening to Jaclyn read a excerpt out of her book. She is smart, quirky and so sweet.  I did get there @ 7 which was on time...but they had started early. So I didn't get a chance to record any of the Q&A's. I did get 3 books signed. So that means I will be giving away 2 books and not one. I also have another surprise for the winners. Since the main problem that some have with the book cover I asked Jaclyn to sketch on the inside cover of the book. So the person who won the book could turn the cover to the Sketch instead of the Bloomsbury cover.  Check out the pictures

Now for the question that everyone has on their mind is did I ask Jaclyn her take about the cover? Yes I did. I did wait till after the Q&A's so I could have a moment to talk about it. We did discuss that she doesn't want to be involved that it's not a great situation to be in. Especially since she has wanted to write her whole life. That her agents and publishers keep asking her what she is going to say. She really didn't have a response because she just doesn't want to be involved. She's in a tough place, this is her job, her book, her love, her passion. She said all she wants to do is write. I personally will continue to support Jaclyn no matter what Bloomsbury will do. She kindly sketched the covers for me without hesitation. I wanted to Thank Jaclyn for being so kind! A BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JACLYN AND A THANK YOU!

This is so brilliant, and I feel so bad she's in this situation. I'll definitely have to read this :)

What a wonderful evening!
Such a terrible position for her to be in...

That's so cool you got to meet her! I'm definitely not happy about the cover, but I think it would be really harsh to take it out on an author who worked so hard to get where she is and didn't have a say in it. The cover controversy is not going to stop me from reading Magic Under Glass; it seems like an awesome book.

That's fantastic! She's a double-threat: author and artist. :)

This is great. You are just adorable. I feel for Jaclyn - I for one am a book cover whore and will buy a book for its cover... but no fear, I want a copy of Magic Under Glass no matter what the cover looks like. That was very sweet of Jaclyn to sketch those cute little drawings on the inside. I will definitely be signing up for the giveaway.

Hi, I'm Jackie's partner (she'll be along to post in a bit). I just wanted to quickly apologize for the early start last night. We were honestly surprised by the turnout and so many seats quickly filled. Neither me, nor Jackie had a watch, so when the B&N rep started the proceedings, we just assumed that it was time. Totally my fault for not having a watch (really need a new watch battery), and I apologize. Thanks so much for coming to see Jackie!
